ER NURSE APPROVED

I am an ER nurse, and I have been using MandaBees headbands for what feels like an eternity. My pursuit of the perfect headband began in 2015 when I got my first job in a Trauma/Burn Unit. Let me tell you, after doing constant wound care and dressing changes, I quickly learned that I needed a reliable and comfortable way to keep my hair pulled back and out of my face for 14 hours.

I stumbled upon MandaBees on Instagram and placed my first order. The hunt was over; this was everything I wanted and more.

I can confirm that this headband will, in fact, stay in place during multiple rounds of CPR. No more getting hair in your mouth while doing compressions and hacking up a hairball at the end.
Side Note: it can also be used as a scrunchie for those extremely messy emergencies.
It will also keep your visual field clear of hair whilst chasing a "naked and afraid" EMS patient through the ER parking lot (because it’s very important to both look good AND be able to see while dodging cars).

Don’t let the secure hold scare you; the headbands are not tight, constricting, or uncomfortable in any way. I can wear one for my entire shift without getting a headache. It doesn’t get caught in my earrings, stethoscope, or interfere with my glasses.

They are made from a thin cooling fabric, which is magic because it does not cause me to overheat—even while attempting to triage an 88-year-old female with a UTI. No, sirree. I do not break a sweat, fighting for my life, fending off little dementia meemaw's jujitsu, kung fu, or MMA moves. My headband keeps me cool as a cucumber as I try to convince her that I am not an intruder trying to break into her home. Because, you know, trying to check a blood pressure is clearly a criminal act...

Unlike my patients, this headband does not pull my hair and mostly keeps it out of pulling reach.

I also discovered that the headbands are surprisingly stain-resistant. I had the pleasure of finding out just how much kid vomit can splash on one without having to throw it out. Spoiler alert: it’s a lot.

MandaBees headbands are offered in multiple styles, designs, prints, and colors. I love that this company provides so much variety. I can literally choose a headband to fit my mood for each shift. Do I feel like giving off "fun, bright, pooping rainbows of optimism" kind of nurse vibes today, or do I want to project "straight out of five night shifts in a row, only got two hours of sleep, and the only thing I’ve ingested recently is Adderall and a Red Bull" vibes? Who knows? It’s a mystery, but I appreciate having the ability to choose.

I have tried more expensive brands (you know, the ones only for the "elite" headband snobs), but I find them lacking in comparison to these. Other brands are just junk compared to these treasures. I keep coming back to MandaBees again and again. They are, without a doubt, my favorite headbands.
